Before some four decades a scene used to get repeated every day in an old home at Chennai ;T Nagar. A boy used to hide under his father’s Piano every morning when he is supposed to go to school. His mother Kasthuri will find him and force him to go to school .His name was Dileep, he never liked the boring classes and was more interested in spending his time besides his father’s Harmonium when he creates new tunes.
His father R. K. Shekhar, was a Chennai based composer and conductor for Malayalam films, who also had a collection of musical instruments which he rented out.
From the age of four Dileep started playing piano, but the tune of his life suddenly changed after the unexpected death of his father when he was only a 9 yrs old. When he was 11 he said bye bye to his school happily to start his music career as a keyboard player with one of the most renowned Music Director Ilayaraja. He didn’t have any other option to take care of his mother Kasthuri and sister Kanjana & Bala.
The boy who left his studies to make a living for his family eventually took a degree in western classical music from Trinity College of Oxford University. On 1989 Dilip and his family embraced Islam and he changed his name as Alla Rakha Rahman and so began his addiction to the mystic
beauty of Sufi Music..
The Golden run
For almost 5 yrs he composed music jingles for advertisements. A.R Rahman created about 300 magical Jingles for advertisements and even got an award for one Jingle created for “Leo Coffee”. One day the Owner of Leo coffee introduced Rahman to his Cousin Mani Ratnam One of the most talented Indian Movie Director who commented “Very Nice Music! Well Done” for the Jingle he created for Leo Coffee and offered him a chance to do Music for His upcoming film “Roja”.It took 6 Months for Rahman to complete Music for Roja which became an Instant super hit then and even now it’s considered as one of the best music ever created in Indian cinema. This film earned him Rajat Kamal award for Best Music Director at the National Film Awards, the first time ever by a first-time film composer.
Even though Roja was his first Super hit; his debut as a music director was with a Malayalam movie “Yodha” ,the songs in that movie were also super hits and a new experience for the Malayalis but didn’t got a nationwide appreciation due to the language barriers.
However with Roja itself Rahman made his Mark so well in the film Industry and from there what we have seen was a parade of magical music all the way long until now and became the magician of Indian Music with the stylistic versatility in his pieces including in Western classical, Carnatic, Tamil traditional/folk, jazz, reggae ,rock music and the mystic beauty of Sufism.
A.R. Rahman is an expert in playing more than 20 musical instruments and even has a nick name “The Mozart Of Madras”.
Rahman is said to be a lover of the nights, he gets in to his studio at 6 PM and will be awake whole night with his music he says I leaves my sleep when music comes in to me.
In 1992, Rahman began his own music recording and mixing studio attached to the backyard of his house called the Panchathan Record Inn which he extended to form “A.M Studio in Kodambakkam in 2005 which is the biggest musical studio in Asia. A.M stands for Abdul Alamoudhudhi his religious guru in Sufism .A.R have a started a world famous music school K.M conservatory.
A.R Rahman used to believe his sound was not apt for music until he listened to the world famous Khavaali singer Ustad Nusrath Fatheh Ali Khan singing in his unique magical voice. After that he also started singing , he started with the song “Antha Arabhi Kadaloram” for the Tamil Movie Kathalan which was a Major hit and from there one we have heard his singing for many superhits songs in his very unique and magical voice.
So far he has won He has won thirteen Filmfare Awards, four National Film Awards, a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe and two Academy Awards.
Family And Character
A.R Rahman got married at the age of 29 with his beautiful wife Zaira and has two daughters Khadeeja & Raheema and a son Ameen. His humbleness, simplicity and selflessness are the rarest of rarest human qualities .He is said to be a very silent man but his colleagues says he speaks a lot so as to make them comfortable when they are tensed and he even cracks nice jokes too, but when it comes to stage shows and live performance he is utter serious and sometimes gets angry too. The one thing AR Rahman hates the most is criticizing or insulting anyone, he won’t do it and he won’t let anyone do it too. He is said to be very religious and he do his ritual prayers 5 times a day no matter what! He is very devoted to his mother who attends all his stage shows live performances award ceremonies, everything even now.
“Rahman doesn’t even write what’s thought of as world music. He writes a world of music — so broad and deep, so instantly likable and lastingly satisfying, it is the whole world.”- Richard Corliss, TIME Magazine.

The typical billionaire is down at least one third on their net worth. The net worth of the world’s billionaires melted down from $4.4 trillion to $2.4 trillion and the number of billionaires fell by nearly a third to 793 from 1,125 after the financial meltdown. Of those who remained or returned to the list, 656 saw their net worth fall, 52 held even and only 44 managed to expand their wealth.
Moscow city alone have lost 55 billionaires from a total of 87, resulted in losing its title as the “ home to the most billionaires” to New York city which is now the home for 55 Billionaires as of 2009 Feb.
Other developing countries like India and Turkey that saw fast and significant growth in previous years were hit hard as well.
Collectively, the top three billionaires lost $68 billion in the year to Feb. 13, when Forbes took a snapshot of wealth around the world to compile its annual list of billionaires.
Microsoft Corp founder Bill Gates lost $18 billion but was able to regain his title as the richest man in the world with his total assets of US $40 Billion on 2009 after replacing Warren Buffett, last year’s richest man with total assets worth US $38 billion as of 2009 since he lost $25 Billion from his previous years total assets US$62 billion.Mexican telecommunications tycoon Carlos Slim took third place with $35 billion, down from $60 billion.
Indian businessman Anil Ambani, the biggest gainer on last year’s list, was the biggest loser this time, with $32 billion wiped out over the last 12 months. Ranked sixth last year, he fell to 34 with an estimated wealth of $10.1 billion.
The only person in the top 20 who did not lose money was New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, whose net worth was revised up to $16 billion from $11.5 billion because of a revaluation of his media company, Bloomberg LP which made him jumping from 65 in the world to 17 and now he is the richest man in New York .
Others who made recession an opportunity to position themselves managed to get richer, like investors George Soros and Ronald Perelman, as well as short-seller John Paulson, who has profited from the fall in financial stocks, and entertainer Oprah Winfrey who is now on the 234 position from last years 462 were the first ones to catch the wave.

There are already so many debates going on with topics such as ; “Recession – will it increase divorce rate or not” “recession will it increase stress in marriage” etc etc
Yet another opportunity to start a new debate on recession, divorce and marriage have been born with the figures released by the Office for National Statistics (UK). The report states weddings in England and Wales are currently at the lowest level since records began as fewer people are marrying than ever before, because of the credit crunch and high cost of divorce..
In 2007, only 231,450 people got married in England and Wales, a decrease of 3.3 per cent on 2006, and a drop of 34 per cent since 1981. This represents the lowest annual number of marriages registered since 1895 a year with only 228,204 marriages.
Moreover, the figures show that average groom is waits longer to marry – he is almost 37 years old and his bride nearly 34( As per Guardian)
Experts says the downward trend in marriage is long term. However, it has no doubt been helped by the current economic climate, which is reflected in the cases we are seeing where couples are seeking to renegotiate the financial terms of their divorce settlements; However there is and always will be a place for an institution that enables people to make a formal, public commitment to each other, and new processes such as collaborative law, which are perhaps still not well recognised, can make the motions of divorce less painful.

The study is certain to prove controversial, since it states that women are programmed to be gold-diggers.
“Women’s orgasm frequency increases with the income of their partner or is directly linked to the size of his bank balance” said Dr Thomas Pollet, the Newcastle University psychologist behind the research.
Pollet, and Professor Daniel Nettle, believed that the female orgasm is an evolutionary adaptation that drives women to choose and retain high-quality partners since it doesnt have any reproductive purpose and they tested this idea with the data gathered in one of the world’s biggest lifestyle studies .
The Chinese Health and Family Life Survey targeted 5,000 people across China for in-depth interviews about their personal lives, including questions about their sex lives, income and other factors. Among these were 1,534 women with male partners whose data was the basis for the study.
They found that 121 of these women always had orgasms during sex, while 408 more had them “often”. Another 762 “sometimes” orgasmed while 243 had them rarely or never. Such figures are similar to those for western countries.
And the survey clearly states :
“Increasing partner income had a highly positive effect on women’s self-reported frequency of orgasm. More desirable mates cause women to experience more orgasms.”
Previous research in Germany and America has looked at attributes such as body symmetry and attractiveness, finding that these are also linked with orgasm frequency. Money, however, seems even more important from these surveys.

A new study which was conducted by University of Cambridge academics has found that males who think they may lose their jobs become more depressed and stressed than women in the same situation.
Job insecurity took a far greater toll of the mental health of both men and women during the last two recessions and from case studies in which companies were taken over by competitors, making job cuts inevitable however it seems men are not that well-equipped to fight the ongoing situation.
Experts says that this may be because of the macho part about men being the bread winner.

As per a new survey conducted by market research company Onepoll.com, which surveyed 3,000 married people have given out the answers for this question.
“An average married couple has two arguments a week”
The survey doesn’t stops their want to know what are the after effects after such arguments?
this subsequently results in the “silent treatment” for two hours and 14 minutes each time,
That means almost ten days a year not speaking to each other after domestic rows!!!
And now what do you think are the most common reasons for such arguments???
Answer: Saying the wrong thing and taking each other for granted!!!?
Great!!! What exactly will be these wrong things ??? Study doesn’t states that !!!
I hope those are the things which are ok when you are in the right mood!!! But when you are stressed out,not happy ,pissed off etc etc makes everything wrong isn’t it ???
And there is no time to make any healthy communication other than such arguments in our busy life, We are all after something all the time ,all our lifes forgetting the uncertainity in life and completely forgetting to live our lives or the ultimate term used by all being practical !!!
Being worried about the future when you don’t even know whether you will live on the next second !!!
People often forgets its not how soon we reach our destination which counts its what all beautiful and peacefull things that we have watched on your journey and the knowledge that you have earned from it …

A Canadian filmmaker plans to have a mini camera installed in his prosthetic eye to make documentaries and raise awareness about surveillance in society.
Rob Spence, 36, who lost an eye in an accident as a teen-ager, said his so-called Project Eyeborg is to have the camera, a battery and a wireless transmitter mounted on a tiny circuit board. www.eyeborgblog.com/
“Originally the whole idea was to do a documentary about surveillance. I thought I would become a sort of super hero … fighting for justice against surveillance,” Spence said.
“In Toronto there are 12,000 cameras. But the strange thing I discovered was that people don’t care about the surveillance cameras, they were more concerned about me and my secret camera eye because they feel that is a worse invasion of their privacy.”
Spence, in Brussels to appear at a media conference, said no part of the camera would be connected to his nerves or brain.
He does not intend to create a reality TV show and the camera will be switched off when not needed, he said.
“I don’t want to go into a locker room. I don’t want to show the world me going to the bathroom either … I’m not a life-caster and I don’t plan to be one,” he said.

Mahatma Gandhi’s personal belongings were bought for USD 1.8 million (Rs 9.3 crore) by industrialist Vijay Mallya, who said he “bidded for the country” at the auction and Gandhi’s items would now return to India.
Just before the auction, owner of the items James Otis had agreed to withdraw them from the auction but the auction house did not agree. It argued that it could have a big liability if it allowed the items to be withdrawn from the auction as more than 30 bidders had already registered for them and some have even sent in written bids.
But the sale would take two weeks to finalize. The items would be kept with the Auctioneer for two weeks to resolve any claims.

John Joseph “Jack” Nicholson 12 time academy award nominated American actor who have won three academy awards;two for Best Actor and one for Best Supporting Actor also one of the youngest actors to be awarded the American Film Institute’s Life Achievement Award.
Iconic. Living-legend status, but still hip with audiences. Is selective about the projects he chooses. “Nicholson still has an edge and sex appeal that endures,” one investor notes. The three-time Oscar winner has mapped his career in a way few others have.
He doesn’t phone in roles for the money; he’s brought elements of the Jack legend on-screen/off-screen persona into some of his roles in more recent years, such as Anger Management and Something’s Gotta Give. He then went old-school Jack with his dark role in The Departed. That’s called range, people.

Matthew Paige Damon; American actor, philanthropist & Academy Award winner for Best Original Screenplay for his screenwriting in Good Will Hunting,
Matt Damon had built a steady, solid body of work running up to the Ocean’s Eleven films, but it was the The Bourne Identity and its sequels that showed he could do the action thing without sacrificing credibility in taking on challenging roles.
Damon has starred in films such as Saving Private Ryan, The Talented Mr. Ripley, the Ocean’s series, the Bourne series, Syriana, The Good Shepherd and The Departed. He has won multiple awards for his film performances and has received a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Damon is one of the top twenty-five highest grossing actors of all time. In 2007, he was named Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine.
Damon has been actively involved in charitable work, including the ONE Campaign and H2O Africa Foundation. With his wife, Luciana Bozán Barroso, Damon has two daughters, Isabella and Gia, and stepdaughter Alexia from Barroso’s prior marriage.
A fourth Bourne is reportedly in the offing, but, until then, he reaps the riches of returning to more dramatic upcoming projects, including Green Zone (with Bourne director Paul Greengrass); The Informant, from Ocean’s Eleven director Steve Soderbergh; and Clint Eastwood’s The Human Factor.

Denzel Hayes Washington, Jr. Three Golden Globe awards and two Academy Awards winning american actor and director
Perhaps one way someone’s star currency can be charted is in people’s awareness at the mere mention of a first name: You hear “Denzel” and you know who someone’s talking about. That’s an important benefit for studio executives when marketing and selling a movie.
His roles are heavy on historically based films & portrayals of real-life figures, such as Steve Biko, Malcolm X, Rubin “Hurricane” Carter, Melvin B. Tolson, Frank Lucas and Herman Boone,Cry Freedom (1988); his Oscar-winning turn in Glory (1989); Malcolm X (1992); The Hurricane (1999); and Remember the Titans (2000), he mixes it up with wide-audience appeal films (albeit usually with deeper tones), such as The Pelican Brief, Crimson Tide, Virtuosity, The Bone Collector, Inside Man and Déjà Vu, among others.

George Timothy Clooney; Academy Award- and Golden Globe-winning American actor, director, producer and screenwriter. Clooney has balanced his glamorous performances in big-budget blockbusters with work as a producer and director behind commercially riskier projects, as well as social and liberal political activism. On January 31, 2008, the United Nations named Clooney a “Messenger of peace.
Clooney’s list of massive box office hits may not be as long as some of his peers, but people in town want to be in the George Clooney business. He’s smart, creative, an industry statesman and utilizes his fame to shed light on issues like the Darfur genocide–all while capturing the essence of Hollywood’s leading men that have come before him.
Clooney has also built his brand globally though other avenues–see his commercials for products outside the United States.

William Bradley “Brad” Pitt born in Shawnee, Oklahoma on December 18, 1963 American actor and film producer. He has been cited as one of the world’s most attractive men,has received two Academy Award nominations and won one Golden Globe Award out of four nominations.
Having Brad Pitt in your project these days lets everyone involved sleep a bit easier. The Oscar nominee for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button could have gone the way of many promising young actors unfairly burdened with being “the Next (fill in the blank),” but Pitt took the torch and forged on, to date crafting a career that doesn’t always cater to the safe choice.
As his North American numbers have grown, so has his international appeal. Examples include Troy, at $133.3 million in North America vs. $364 million in the rest of world, and Babel, at $34.3 million in North America vs. $101 million internationally.

Her first leading role in a major film was in Hackers (1995).
